Vote by Mail FAQs

What if I decide I want to vote in person after I get my mail ballot?

Even if you receive a vote-by-mail ballot, you still have the option to vote early or on election day. You do not have to bring your mail ballot with you to vote in person.

What if my mail ballot is rejected because the signature doesn't match?

The supervisor of elections office compares your signature on the mail ballot envelope to the signature they have on file. If the match is not accepted, you will be notified by email and/or phone and asked to complete a signature cure affidavit.

How can I tell if my mail ballot has been accepted?

Your online voter record will show if your vote has been counted for all elections in the past 365 days (https://www.voteseminole.org/my-voter-record). Also see instructions for "See If Your Vote Counted" earlier on this page.

How much does it cost to mail in the ballot?

Seminole County does not provide postage paid envelopes for mail ballots. Postage costs depend on the size of the ballot. However, by law the post office must deliver mail ballots even if they have no stamps.

Can I drop off my mail ballot instead of mailing it?

Yes, you can hand deliver your mail ballot to secure ballot intake stations at early voting locations during early voting hours.

Why am I being asked to put my email address and phone number on the return envelope?

This information is requested so the elections office can contact you if there are any issues with counting your ballot. Providing this information is optional, but be sure to complete the rest of the envelope correctly.
